HNU – Exhibition

Every semester at HNU concludes with the Exhibition — a showcase of student innovation and hard work. I contributed to the planning process by creating a 3D model of the exhibition space, which helped visualize and refine the event layout.

Later, I expanded the project by redesigning the cafeteria area to reflect the atmosphere of everyday student life.

All assets were modeled in Blender, with textures created in Substance Painter and Designer. The diorama was rendered in Blender.

I was part of the exhibition’s organization team as a 3D Artist. My task was to create a 3D model that could later be turned into a physical miniature to plan the exhibition area more accurately.

At the start of the project, we measured four rooms as well as the cafeteria and the foyer. Since the model was intended to be built as a miniature, it was important to capture all dimensions with precise ratios.

With the measurements in place, I began by creating a rough blockout of the essential rooms:

After blocking out the rooms in 3D, we moved on to building the miniature model, and the planning phase began:

The final exhibition looked like this:

After some time, I revisited the project and expanded it by refining the cafeteria area. My goal was to capture the everyday atmosphere that we, as students, experience. Additionally, I aimed to create all textures myself using Substance Designer, focusing on small and condensed textures. I took reference photos directly of the cafeteria and tried to recreate the environment as accurately as possible.
